Fortifying Framing for Reliable Installation

This homeowner enjoyed the ability to try out different colors and styles of materials on their home with our 3D modeling software. This ensured they found the perfect siding, windows, and roof for their home. The old cedar siding on the home had begun to deteriorate due to age and woodpecker damage. When we removed the old siding, we found rotted wood in the substructure.Â
Upon presenting different options for repairs, the homeowner opted to have us rebuild the framing and sheathing around the chimney as well as the framing for the soffit and fascia on both the front and rear elevation. Additionally, we repaired some loose bricks on the west elevation and tuckpoint around lighting fixtures. With the structure of the home repaired, it was time to begin installing the new materials.

To maintain the original exterior’s charm while enhancing overall durability, the homeowner opted for a similar look with modern improvements. Our project advisor recommended long-lasting Hardie® siding, resilient Malarkey shingles, and energy-efficient Marvin windows. The updated color scheme highlighted the home’s rustic charm with a contemporary twist. Additionally, the homeowner requested a canopy to be built over the front entrance to add architectural dimension and depth to their entryway.
